A PEOPLE’S COALITION
Fifty years ago, a handful of fishermen inspired a province with their zeal for justice, their demand for a union. And they won.
Today, the crowds carrying the picket signs are Indigenous people and environmentalists, passionate defenders of our living planet. They will win, too.
This Friday, join me at A People’s Coalition, a panel discussion organized by the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour. We’ll discuss new partnerships and stronger alliances to get what we all want — a caring society in a thriving natural world.
This Friday, let’s talk. At 7:30, in the Atlantic Ballroom of the Westin Nova Scotian.
TAKING IT ON THE ROAD
Later on, the NS Federation of Labour will host three parallel events around the province. On April 7 we’ll be in Sydney, at the Grand Lake Road Fire Hall, at 7:00 PM. Later still we’ll be in Bridgewater and New Glasgow — but the dates and times for those events are still being arranged.
And quite separately, on March 11, in Chester, at 7:00 PM in the Chester Legion — on Union Street, appropriately — I’m speaking to the Friends of Nature on “Salmon Wars and After.”
